Our key philosophy at Harmony Resorts is to invest in the future and since we started operating we have followed this rule religiously on every step we have taken. Operating in an island blessed by nature requires a great deal of social responsibility and improved environmental performance and Harmony Resorts were amongst the first hotels that have taken substantial steps towards minimising their environmental impact.
All our hotels operate under building management systems, using state‐of‐the‐art computerized systems for efficient energy & water management. Our environmental policy mix includes waste management, extensive use of solar energy, over 90% use of gas, litter separation system, priority use of recycled materials ‐ natural products, and regular microbiological ‐ chemical analyses of seawater.
Innovation on responsible or sustainable tourism is not just taking steps to reduce our environmental footprint; it also has to do with maximising social benefits and creating employment opportunities to the local communities. Being fully aware of this we have evolved as both: a vital supporter of the island’s local suppliers and a significant regional employer investing large amounts to our most valued asset: our employees. Employing more than 580 people with more than two thirds of our employees being educated in tourism and over 75% on continuous education it is fair to say that Harmony Resorts have developed a unique culture for sustainable tourism and environmental awareness.
